Hey there! I am Heather. A Richmond local and Sugar Shack Donut enthusiast. This is my little home where I write about long lasting love, foodie locations you HAVE to visit, renovations, and DIY projects.
This Chesapeake, Virginia wedding took my breath away. It was simple in the best of ways and really focused on the marriage between Eric & Naomi. Did I mention there were 13 flower girls! I have to admit, seeing those little girls twirl in their princess dresses was just about the cutest thing I have seen.
The first time I talked to Naomi, I had this feeling. I get this feeling a few times a year and it is always so clear that God has put certain people in my life. I actually was referred to Naomi from a sweet photographer friend and I was so thrilled that they wanted me as their photographer. Naomi and I met for BBQ to get to know each other and instantly hit it off, I mean…who doesn’t LOVE BBQ!
Eric is in the navy and scheduling an engagement session took some patience and flexibility. When he got home, I hit the road and drove myself to Williamsburg after a long day at work to hang out with this phenomenal couple. We had a blast but even more special than that, we knew their wedding day was quickly approaching.
It was HOT y’all. There is no other way to put it. I am pretty sure it was the hottest wedding to date but we still were able to snap some of the most beautiful pictures of Naomi and Eric. We tried to hurry the process up because Naomi was in the most beautiful gown…but it was heavy and being outside really didn’t keep Naomi cool. Not to mention, Eric was in his dress whites. Shade was our friend that day!
One thing that really stood out at this wedding was the amount of family and friends. Naomi and Eric truly surrounded themselves with the people who not only love them but are going to support them through their marriage. There was some pretty fun dances going on at this wedding and really took me back to one of my favorite movies of all time “Pride and Prejudice”…even though we weren’t in England. I am pretty sure that Naomi and Eric are Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet.
Naomi & Eric. I am so happy for both of you. You are by far the sweetest people I have ever met. The camera loves you, sorry Eric! You are both really good at posing yourselves. I hope you have the best honeymoon ever and enjoy your time together.
It was such a beautiful day! Thanks for capturing the joy we felt! You’ve a true gift!
