I always think it’s important to do things for yourself. If that’s going on a little trip  or allowing yourself to splurge on a little shopping spree. So in 2014 I started the $ jar…and yes it has the $ written on it. I put ALL of my spare change into this mason jar for the entire year hoping and praying that I would have a nice chunk of change to cash in! AND….it worked. It was a great little investment tool for me. Even though i’m not that much richer, I still have a few dollars more that I saved instead of spent. This year I made $79.87. WOOHOO!! For 2015 I am now allowing myself to put $1 bills into the jar as incentive to go on a TRIP!

Note: (Even though this is funny) Make sure to keep some change in your car for tolls. I put myself in a pickle once or twice by forgetting to leave a quarter here and there. I wish someone had filmed me in my car when I realized I was out of change completely!!
