and Kerplunk!!

I hate that moment…

The moment you go into the bathroom and completely forget that you phone is in your back pocket. It’s like you’re a sitting duck. I mean, I didn’t even see it coming! My phone went spiraling down the porcelain throne and my life went spiraling into chaos. Now, when I walked out of the bathroom with a dripping cell phone, my entire family laughed. This is the Deadrick women’s curse! We have ALL dropped our phones into a toilet. My favorite story is still when my mom dropped hers but that’s only because she never understood how it could happen to my sister and me….and then it did. We are the three amigos in all things.

I never realized how I use communication constantly! My have an entire system for running my business and most of it requires my phone. So this is hard for me. Yes, I have many people poking fun of me and saying I can’t go a certain period of time without my phone and I know it’s funny. Of course I can go without my phone! I went three months at camp without a phone and I loved the liberation I felt without it! Right now, I feel trapped. As silly as it sounds I am having the opposite reaction because I didn’t willingly give up my phone. The hardest part is I am receiving calls and text messages but I can’t answer or respond back!!

I think my point is that I know this is no where near the end of the world! Everything is going to be alright and I will probably still have my inquiries that have texted me. I have to realize that I can’t rely solely on one device to get the job done. I will say that I have enjoyed not having my phone when we went to “practice” thanksgiving last night. I played with the cutest kids and really enjoyed myself! There is definitely a benefit to being “unplugged”…willing or not!

Here’s a picture of Shaylie to show you how I really feel!
