Hey there! I am Heather. A Richmond local and Sugar Shack Donut enthusiast. This is my little home where I write about long lasting love, foodie locations you HAVE to visit, renovations, and DIY projects.
If you’ve ever spent time in Richmond, Virginia then you know there is so much to do and beauty to explore. From downtown Richmond and the canal walk all the way up to Carytown and the amazing food and festivals. Richmond is a place for everyone! One place I not only love to visit but photograph is the University of Richmond. It’s architecture and history are amazing and it’s so nice to stroll along the campus.
Kassie & Johnny got married two weeks ago and it was a magical day! They met back in high school and even dated for a while before parting way. Eventually, they found each other again and decided to start a life together. I adore them! They are so down to earth and easy to talk to. Kassie is my type of girl. She is a go-getter and was pretty much ahead of me when it came to compiling details at this wedding. I laugh because I love when my brides have it together…but this girl put me to SHAME!
Their day was perfect! It was the first day this year that actually felt like fall. The girls got ready together and it was nothing but laughter and sharing memories together. We traveled to the University of Richmond to the Cannon Memorial Chapel, where the girls finished getting ready. Kassie put her wedding dress on and there wasn’t a dry eye at the chapel. She looked absolutely stunning and my favorite reaction was Johnny’s. When Kassie came down the aisle his face said it all. It came time for pictures and we were losing light fast! I started to panic a little bit but realized that the chemistry between Johnny and Kassie was amazing. They are like magnets, they naturally come together and start cuddling. We snagged some amazing shots just as the light left us!
The reception was at the Jepson Alumni Center and as soon as the bride and groom arrived the party got started! So many people hit the dance floor and were full of laughter. Ben and I may have slid onto the dance floor a few times to enjoy the fun as well. They left with a bubble exit and left for their honeymoon.
Kassie & Johnny, I wish you both the absolute best. You are both such sweethearts and Ben and I enjoyed getting to know you both. Your family and friends made us feel so welcome and loved. Wishing you the best!
