As a Richmond, Virginia wedding photographer my couples tend to have a sweet and southern charm. That’s EXACTLY how I describe Jennifer and Jake. When I first met Jennifer it was at a small Starbucks. Normally when I meet with brides it’s around a thirty minute meeting. I give all of the information and let it process. Typically, I hear from the bride and groom later on. Jennifer arrived and we left Starbucks almost an hour and thirty minutes later. We BOTH love to chit chat.

From the moment she started telling me about Jake, I knew what type of man he was. He LOVES her. You can tell by the way he looks at her. It’s magical and SO romantic. They are so sweet to each other. I tend to have a soft spot for couples who cherish each other. I think there are so many types of love but cherishing your future wife or husband is my favorite trait.

We went to the Boathouse in Midlothian! If you have ever been out there you know the amazing venue it is. Normally it is so full of people so taking pictures can be difficult. We showed up at 7:30 am and started our wonderful engagement session. It was completely empty! Not a soul to be found. I hate to admit this online BUT I tend to be a person who asks for forgiveness before I ask for permission! It tends to mean that I have more adventurous couples who are willing to be flexible and go with the flow. Which is why Jennifer and Jake were the perfect couple to take out to this venue. We played with Ducks, Canoes, and joked around. All of this was done before 8:30am! It was a busy but fun day. Check out this engagement session. They were just too perfect <3
