Hey there! I am Heather. A Richmond local and Sugar Shack Donut enthusiast. This is my little home where I write about long lasting love, foodie locations you HAVE to visit, renovations, and DIY projects.
When I signed up to meet with my photography idol I knew it was going to be a huge moment for my photography career. I stayed up for Katelyn to send out the newsletter announcing her coaching sessions for the fall. There I sat, credit card in hand, foot tapping, and ready to push the button that would guarantee my meeting with the fabulous Katelyn James. I hit “click” and the hallelujah chorus broke out. I had finally done it!! Now, I had to wait two months and LET ME TELL YOU…it was a long wait. The build up to meeting Katelyn James was intolerable. I swear I had more dreams about missing the date and I woke up feeling like I had stopped breathing. I swear…worse than a nightmare.
The day finally came and I decided to work a half day. Longest day of work in my life! I think I looked at the clock 20 times before realizing it was time to go. We met for lunch and I had two other awesome companions! Katelyn was obviously there, her husband Michael, and Alicia Lacey from the morning coaching session. There was a lot of questions, laughter, and amazing italian food! One of my favorite parts of the day was when Alicia and I had our head shots done by Katelyn. Now, I love getting my picture taken and Katelyn made me feel SO AMAZING but my favorite part was watching Katelyn in action. Seeing her mannerisms and attention to detail was such an experience. Later, I went to Katelyn’s house to talk “all things photography” and let me tell you…that girl can decorate!! She also has a famous puppy, Bokeh the Bich Poo that was happy to greet me. He actually JUMPED into my lap and I was in love from there.
That day was amazing…and Katelyn motivated me to do more for myself and my business. I am eternally grateful and still in AWE of her.
Here is my photographer friend, Alicia!!!
It’s amazing how she knew the perfect side of my face for pictures!!
Oh, I love my eyes in this picture!
OH, I love the shot with the boots 🙂
