Hey there! I am Heather. A Richmond local and Sugar Shack Donut enthusiast. This is my little home where I write about long lasting love, foodie locations you HAVE to visit, renovations, and DIY projects.
I have to admit, I have never been to Lexington, Virginia. I am a born and raised Virginian…and I have never been! This is a location Ben and I will have to visit soon. From the little stores to the Georges hotel, it was an awesome place to celebrate a wedding. I have been waiting to blog this wedding since I took Sarah & Scott’s engagement session. I am absolutely obsessed with this couple. They are so down to earth and easy to hang out with. I think that’s why this day was “the best day ever”! It really was. It was beautiful in the town of Lexington and I showed up as early as possible so I could hang out with the bridal party all day long. I had a few free moments to walk around the town and found an absolutely fantastic cafe with coffee and gelato. What more could a photographer ask for?
This wedding was full of glitz and glam. Can you tell by these fantastic navy Kate Spade heels? I can’t lie…I was so jealous of Sarah and secretly wished her shoe size was bigger so that I could attempt to buy them from her after the wedding. Sarah & Scott had a beautiful wedding full of family and friends. They were blessed with beautiful weather and had the most stunning venue at the Lee Chapel.

Sarah & Scott, you both have been so sweet and kind. I am still honored to have been part of your special day. Your family is by far one of the kindest…and silliest that I have met yet. I wish you both all of the happiness as you start this wonderful journey of marriage together. Thanks for keeping your spirits up when it was starting to heat up outside. I know it is no small task to pose for pictures…but when you are that good looking, can you blame me?! hehe..
These photos are stunning, and so much fun! You truly captured the joy and love that filled the day!
As the mother of the bride, I thank you for your beautiful work! The ceremony and reception go by so quickly that it’s wonderful to have these moment of time captured to revisit! Love, Phyllis Hugg
