Daily Makeup & Hair Tutorial

I’ve always wanted to do this… but I have always felt a little awkward. SO, I am being brave and letting you see me with NO makeup on and my wet hair. Haha I have to admit that I laughed during this whole thing!!!!

Here we go! Naked face and hair!!!!!! Oh hello everyone 🙂

Photo on 1-5-15 at 10.30 AM

I start by obviously taking a shower and washing my hair and face. Before I do anything else I start by putting a dime size amount of coconut milk anti-breakage serum by OGX.Photo on 1-5-15 at 10.31 AM

This is great for your hair and if you find you are someone who blow dries, straightens, or curls your hair more than 3 times a week you may want to invest in this. It helps with split ends and keeping your hair moisturized.

At this point, I either put my hair in a bun or clip it back. If I am going out immediately after I get ready I clip it back so my hair naturally dries faster and I don’t have to completely blow dry my hair.

Then I start on my makeup. Make sure you have a great moisturizer especially for the winter! Oh and don’t mind my breaking out face haha! You need about a dime size dollop of this as well. Make sure to spread this evenly on your face. I like to let this set for about 5 minutes before I start applying my primer. Go get a cup of coffee and listen to music while your face takes a breather!

Most people like to skip this step and I think it’s VERY important when you are putting on makeup. This is a cheap primer but it does the job. Your primer gives your makeup something to hold onto. Have you ever noticed halfway through the day your makeup is either gone or smudged? That’s why!! I actually have the hardest time with eye makeup because my eyes are oily and water-y but the primer helps with this! It also gives your concealer and powder more of a matte look.

Alright ladies! Now your face is ready to go 🙂

I love these Rimmel products because they are not expensive and they show results. I have to use two different colors to perfectly match my face. So I use the Light Ivory and Ivory concealers. (haha my face in this)

I use a combined dime size of my concealers. You can always use more if you run out. I mix on the concealer on my hand to match the color perfectly with a concealer brush. Okay, the next picture is going to be funny! Feel free to laugh because I know I did. We are going to learn about CONTOURING!

haha! I start by putting a triangle under each eye down to the end of my nose. Don’t worry you will blend all of this in. You also want to put a little at the bottom of your chin, along the nose, and over your eyebrows. This gives you the highlights on your face. You can always do more or less but you just have to start and play with your makeup to find your perfect end result!!

Begin lightly blending. You do not want to completely blend the color away. Start by using gentle strokes and blending down away from your eye.

This gives you an even tone and you are ready for a little powder.

Photo on 1-5-15 at 10.43 AM #3

I use a Neutrogena powder that helps prevent breakouts and has salicylic acid in it! This is my best friend 🙂

Then I use a Milani powder foundation to start accenting the lower half of my face. Remember a little goes a long way with any type of makeup. (I forgot to take a picture of this makeup so I have to block my face so you don’t see the finished product yet!!)

Photo on 1-5-15 at 10.46 AM

For contrast on my cheek bones I use Neutrogena healthy skin blush & bronzer. I actually only use the bronzer in this because I don’t like too pink of a face.

Photo on 1-5-15 at 10.47 AM #3Everyone’s face shape is different but I start from my temple and work downward at a 45 degree angle. Blend lightly just like we did the concealer.

Now to your eyes!! I love Naked products but sometimes I use them so fast that I can’t keep up. I also love to change it up so right now I am using Stilla’s eye shadow palette. It comes with a matching eye liner which is also a score!! WoOHOO You can see that I use a lot of gold and a rose color. Each eye color has a contrasting color but I like a dramatic eye without using too many dark colors.

Here’s the finished product with just eye shadow. Now, as I said before I have trouble with eye liners smudging so sometimes I just finish the look with just mascara but for the “full effect” I will go ahead and put eye liner on.

I have a few eye liners I use on a weekly basis but I love this Revlon Colorstay eyeliner. It’s important to research the shape of your eye to find which lining technique looks best on you. I like to go heavier on the outside edge and a thin line around my entire eye.

Photo on 1-5-15 at 10.53 AM

Yay!! Eyeliner complete.

Photo on 1-5-15 at 10.53 AM #2

Finish with an amazing volumizing mascara. I use Maybelline “the mega plush” volum express.

Photo on 1-5-15 at 10.55 AM

To finish my makeup I also line my eyebrows. This is something you can really over do. This pencil is from Sephora by Anastasia called Brow Wiz. I use this to line the top and bottom of my brows. This is generally to extend my eyebrows by 1/4 of an inch or so.

Photo on 1-5-15 at 10.56 AMThen I finish by using Too Faced “Bulletproof Brows” putty. This is more like painting your eyebrows to fill in the color. As you can see I have thick eyebrows but a few spotty areas that need to be filled in.

Photo on 1-5-15 at 10.58 AM

They look a little drastic with my wet hair but when your look is complete it’s not as dramatic.

Photo on 1-5-15 at 11.03 AM

By this point my hair is almost dry and just needs a 2 to 3 minute blow out. Now, I go out like this but sometimes I will do a cute braid in the front.

Photo on 1-5-15 at 11.03 AM #2

My braid uses two strands instead of three. You begin just like a french braid. Slowly adding hair into each strand.Photo on 1-5-15 at 11.04 AM

As I reach about half way I stop adding hair so I can easily secure the hair without it getting messed up.

Photo on 1-5-15 at 11.04 AM #2

Secure with two bobby pins…and your finished!! Photo on 1-5-15 at 11.04 AM #3

Woohoo! You are done. This takes me about 35 minutes to do without including the shower. If you are in a rush you can modify this and skip a few steps.Photo on 1-5-15 at 11.09 AM

Now, I am going to drink some coffee and enjoy my weekend 🙂

Happy Friday ya’ll!
